Student government put on their last Spirit rally of the year, also known as Senior Rally, on May 29 in the large gym, celebrating the graduating class.

Prior to the event, the week of May 26 was a Spirit week. Tuesday was gap year and travel themed, in which students wore pajamas and lounge clothing, Wednesday was college gear, where students sported either their favorite or future schools’ merchandise, Thursday was fraternity versus sorority, where students dressed as stereotypical frat and sorority members, and Friday was class color themed. Seniors wore yellow and green, Juniors wore black, Sophomores wore purple, and Freshman wore pink.

The rally was themed after the animated movie Monster’s Inc., with rally emcees Chance Murdock (‘26) and Jacob Guletz (‘26) dressed as Sully and Mike Wazowski from the film to welcome students. During the rally, multiple music performances took place. EC’s choir kicked it off with the singing of the national anthem.

Later, Emma Fechter (‘26) played the bass guitar while Grace Gollihur (‘26) sang “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)” by Green Day as a tribute to the Senior class.

Finally, Genevieve Feldman (‘26), Sasha Faris (‘26), Raven Nunley (‘26), Riley Fox (‘27) and William Coyle (‘26) sang “Somewhere Only We Know” by Keane to cap off the rally.

Along with the musical performances, students and staff participated in games and competitions between the classes, including dodgeball and sock tag. Finally, at the end of the rally, Murdock held a Spirit contest, in which classes competed to see how loud they could cheer for their class.

The Senior class finished the week with the most spirit points, which are awarded for student participation in spirit week and victories during rally games.
