Baseball is capping off their season this week with their final series of their league season against Casa Roble. Last week, the team lost two games in a double-header against Dixon after the originally scheduled games were cancelled due to rain. Yesterday, the team lost at home to Casa Roble, 8-1. The team will have an away game tomorrow at Casa Roble, and on Friday they will face the same team in El Camino’s senior night, where they will celebrate the team’s seven graduating Eagles. Both games will start at 4:15 pm.
Softball’s schedule has been modified after being rained out in their scheduled home game against Casa Roble last week. The Eagles will now face the Rams in a home game on May 5, which is also the new date of softball’s senior night. Most recently, the team beat Woodland on Apr. 23 and will play Dixon today at home, starting at 4:30 pm.
The boy’s volleyball team wrapped up their league season on Apr. 22, beating Casa Roble in straight sets. The team finished their regular season with a rivalry away game against Rio Americano, where they lost 3-0 to the Raiders. The Eagles finished as the Golden Empire League champions and are now headed into the first round of the Sac-Joaquin Section playoffs, where they will play at Encina tomorrow, starting at 6 pm.
EC’s co-ed tennis team’s season is officially over, but #1 girls player and team captain Chloe Woods (‘26) qualified for the Sac-Joaquin Section singles tournament in Stockton. Woods will participate in the tournament in May.
Track hosted their senior night meet last Wednesday, honoring their many graduating seniors. Many players qualified for the GEL Championships, which will be held at Casa Roble on Friday. The official list of Eagle qualifiers will come out tomorrow.
Swim has finished their season, and has sections coming up from May 6-8. Many swimmers, girls and boys, qualified in their individual events for sections, and both teams will be sending a relay team to compete as well. Last season, the girls varsity swim team won the section title for the first time in EC history, and the team is looking to repeat that accomplishment again next week.
Two players from the boy’s golf team qualified for divisionals this season: Keaton Yost (‘26) and Owen Atencio (‘27). Both boys will compete on May 4 at Wildhorse Golf Club in Davis. If either or both advance to the next round, they will compete in masters at The Reserve in Stockton on May 11.
As always, admission to home sporting events costs $6 for students with ID.
