Sean Carson, the new biology teacher, has been teaching for around 21 years. Carson taught his first 3 years at Winston Churchill Middle School from 1999 to 2003, and had been at Mira Loma High School for the last 17 years.
He has previously taught earth science, physics, environmental science, environmental systems in society, honors biology and biology.

Carson went to California State University, Chico and studied biology with an emphasis in economics.
Additionally, he was in the Navy for 4 years where he was deployed to South Carolina and Iceland.
For a hobby, he runs ultra marathons that range from 31 to 100 miles. In the first weekend of November Carson will be running a 100 mile race called Rio de Lago.
Carson also volunteers with dog rescuers in Sacramento County called Sacramento Shelter Pets Alive. He adopted a running dog named Starburst and has run 11,000 miles with her.
