On March 9 El Camino boosters club hosted their annual crab feed at Scottish Rite Masonic Center to support EC students.

The event consisted of food, drinks, live music and a raffle and live auction. EC families and friends donated items to the event which were then auctioned to the EC families who attended the event.

Boosters Board member and Girls/Boys Varsity volleyball Coach Sarah Veira explains the success that the crab feed brought this year.

“Everything went very smoothly, the food and auction items, I think everything [went well].” Veira said.

The crab feed’s attendance this year was 480 people, but their goal for next year is around 550 people.

While a popular auction item this year was restaurant gift cards, boosters hoped to promote businesses for next year’s crab feed.

“We’re looking to change a lot of auction items to business sponsorships of the event… Instead of donating a 100 dollar gift card to the business you get a sign up at the event and you get advertising on our website and programs,” Veria said. “You’re buying advertising instead of donating.”

ASB Secretary and decorations lead for student government, Romani Trejo (24’), expressed her enjoyment in working at the crab feed.

“[I enjoyed] spending time with my friends and other family members that went to the crab feed.” Trejo stated.

Planning for the crab feed next year has already begun and big plans for EC awaits.
